Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Swaraj Acharya, sole proprietor, trading as "Avedan", ("Avedan", "we", "our", "us"), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information through the Avedan Android application and the website avedan.in (together, the "Platform"). This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. We may update this Policy from time to time; continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

Information Collection

We collect: account and profile information (name, phone number, email, date of birth); identity and eligibility documents you upload to your document locker (photograph, signature, Aadhaar, PAN, educational and other certificates); details of each application/ticket you submit; device and usage information (device ID, app version, crash logs) collected automatically; and, where enabled, location information to show nearby cafe partners. Payments are processed through our payment gateway partner — we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or banking credentials.

How We Use Information

We use your information to: create and manage your account and document locker; process and submit applications through your selected cafe partner or verified agent; process payments and refunds; verify partner and user identity; detect and prevent fraud; communicate with you about your applications, account, or support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your uploaded identity documents for any purpose beyond facilitating your applications.

Data Sharing

We share information with: your selected cafe partner or verified agent, limited to what is necessary to complete your specific application; our payment gateway partner, to process payments; the relevant government portal, where your details are submitted as part of an application you requested; and government or regulatory authorities, where required by law. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or marketing agencies.

Data Security

Your data is stored on secure servers located in India, in compliance with Indian data residency requirements. Access to personal data, particularly identity documents, is restricted to authorized personnel. Your account is protected by an app PIN, with additional verification required when signing in from an unrecognized device. Aadhaar numbers are handled in accordance with UIDAI guidelines, with masking used wherever possible.

We do not store your account password in plain text. We never ask for your banking passwords, UPI PIN, or OTPs — anyone contacting you for these details while claiming to represent Avedan is not acting on our behalf; report them immediately using the contact details below.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required under the DPDP Act.

Data Retention

Documents in your document locker are retained so you can reuse them across future applications without re-uploading each time. If you delete your account, we delete your documents and personal information, except records we are required to retain to comply with tax, audit, or other legal obligations — which are kept only as long as legally required and used solely for that purpose.

User Rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct or update inaccurate data; withdraw consent for processing at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and may limit your ability to use certain features); and request deletion of your account and associated data. Partner Data Handling

Cafe partners and verified agents can access only the specific documents and information required for an assigned application. Partners must not store, copy, download, or use your data for any purpose beyond completing that application, and must keep your information confidential. Partners cannot permanently alter or take control of your profile data. Unauthorized use, storage, or disclosure of your data by a partner is a serious breach of our partner agreement and may result in termination and legal action.

Public Website Usage

The Avedan website (avedan.in) is for browsing government job vacancies, government service information, college and university admission details, entrance exam information, and checking your eligibility. No account creation, document upload, or payment takes place on the website. Browsing activity on the website may be recorded through cookies and analytics, as described in the Cookies & Tracking Technologies section above.
