Description
Birth Certificate Registration is a government service for registering a birth and obtaining an official birth certificate in Assam. Birth registration is compulsory and should normally be completed within 21 days from the date of birth at the place where the birth occurred. The service may also cover delayed birth registration where the birth was not registered within the prescribed period, subject to the applicable procedure, permissions and late fees. Assam also provides a separate process for delayed birth registration.
