Description

Assam Police offers online police verification through its citizen service portal, Assam Police Sewa Setu. Citizens can request verification for Government/PSU jobs, private-sector employment, tenants/paying guests and domestic help without first visiting the police station. After registering and submitting the request with the required documents, the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station conducts the verification. The applicant then downloads the verification letter or police report from the portal.

Services covered: Government/PSU employment verification, private employment verification, tenant/PG verification and domestic help verification.

Fees: Government/PSU employment verification has no service fee. Private employment, tenant/PG and domestic help verification are Rs 300 each as per the Home Department revised fee schedule reported in November 2023. Confirm the current fee on the portal before paying.

Employment verification (Government/PSU and private) documents: ID proof of the employee, verification request letter from the organisation, and a copy of the advertisement.

Tenant/PG verification documents: proof of occupation, photo of the tenant/PG, ID proof, and signatures of tenant and landlord. Property details must be added in the request.

Domestic help verification documents: photo and fingerprint of the domestic help.

Selected candidates for Assam Government posts: as per the Personnel Department order reported in August 2026, appointing authorities seek a notarised affidavit on character and antecedents and may appoint provisionally pending the Police Verification Report. The report is due within six months of appointment, and an adverse report or false affidavit can lead to cancellation of appointment and legal action.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for passport or emigration purposes is applied for through Passport Seva and is not covered by this listing.
