Description

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, have released CEN No. 06/2026 for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) – Graduate level, with 3,548 provisional vacancies in four posts: Goods Train Manager (2,750), Senior Clerk cum Typist (371), Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (300) and Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor (127). Eligibility: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent. Age limit: 18 to 33 years as on 01.01.2027, with relaxation for reserved categories. Candidates can apply to only one RRB and must give their medium of examination and Railway Zone preferences in the application. Selection: CBT-1, CBT-2, then document verification and medical examination. The typing skill test has been dispensed with. CBT-1 is tentatively planned for the fourth week of December 2026. Application fee: ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT-1); ₹250 for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Women/PwBD/Transgender/Minority/EBC candidates (fully refunded after appearing in CBT-1). Fee payment closes on 08.11.2026 and the paid correction window runs 09.11.2026 to 18.11.2026.

Same qualification for all four posts: Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist. Candidates awaiting final-year results are not eligible. Maximum age: 33 years (UR/EWS), 36 years (OBC-NCL), 38 years (SC/ST), as on 01.01.2027. Age relaxation: OBC-NCL 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC-NCL) and 15 years (SC/ST), Ex-Servicemen 3 years (UR/EWS), 6 years (OBC-NCL) and 8 years (SC/ST) after deducting service length. Other notified categories as per the CEN.

Selection process & notes

A candidate can apply to only one RRB. Choose the RRB carefully before submitting.

Candidates must give their medium of examination and an order of Railway Zone preference under the chosen RRB in the application.

Online application closes on 06.11.2026 (23:59 hrs). Last date for fee payment is 08.11.2026.

A paid correction window is open from 09.11.2026 to 18.11.2026.

Application fee: ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT-1). ₹250 for SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority and EBC candidates (fully refunded after appearing in CBT-1).

Fee refunds go to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account validated during the application.

The typing skill test has been dispensed with for the Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist posts. There is no aptitude test (CBAT) for any post in this CEN.

CBT-1 is tentatively planned to start from the fourth week of December 2026. Exact dates will be announced separately on the RRB website.

Candidates must hold the degree on or before 06.11.2026. Candidates awaiting final-year results are not eligible.

SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying against UR vacancies do not get age relaxation. If a candidate qualifies for relaxation on more than one ground, only the maximum applies.
