Description

The Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme is an initiative of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for students from the North Eastern Region (NER) to encourage higher education. A total of 10,000 fresh scholarships are offered every year to eligible students pursuing undergraduate courses. Only first-year UG students with NER domicile are eligible; OTR is mandatory; institute must be registered on NSP; income proof, domicile certificate, and Class 12 marksheet are the core documents; change of course/institution forfeits the scholarship.

Selection Process

Merit-based on Class 12 marks and eligibility; no separate entrance exam. Slots (10,000/year) are distributed among NER states by population share; unfilled state quotas roll over to other NER states.
