Description
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, have released CEN No. 07/2026 for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) – Undergraduate level, with 1,688 provisional vacancies in four clerical posts: Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (700), Accounts Clerk cum Typist (200), Junior Clerk cum Typist (600) and Trains Clerk (188). Eligibility: Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board. Age limit: 18 to 30 years as on 01.01.2027, with relaxation for reserved categories. Candidates can apply to only one RRB. Selection: CBT-1, CBT-2, then document verification and medical examination. The typing skill test has been dispensed with for CEN 07/2026. Application fee: ₹500 for General/OBC candidates (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT-1); ₹250 for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Women/PwBD/Minority/EBC/Transgender candidates (fully refunded after appearing in CBT-1). Fee payment closes on 15.11.2026 and the paid correction window runs 16.11.2026 to 25.11.2026.

Qualification
Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 is required, with exemption for SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and candidates holding a qualification higher than Class 12. Applies to all four posts: Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk. Age relaxation: OBC-NCL 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC-NCL) and 15 years (SC/ST), Ex-Servicemen 3 years (UR/EWS), 6 years (OBC-NCL) and 8 years (SC/ST) after deducting service length. Widowed/divorced/judicially separated women who have not remarried: up to 35 years (UR/EWS), 38 years (OBC-NCL) and 40 years (SC/ST). Serving Railway Group C/erstwhile Group D staff with 3 years' service: up to 40 years (UR/EWS), 43 years (OBC-NCL) and 45 years (SC/ST).
