Overview
Description
The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Assam has invited online applications for the Assam OBC Scholarship 2026-27, covering both Pre-Matric (Class 9–10) and Post-Matric (Class 11 onward, including graduation and professional courses) students belonging to OBC, EBC, and DNT/S-NT communities of Assam. Applications are open from 1st June 2026 to 30th September 2026, submitted online through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in). The annual family income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. This is a centrally sponsored scheme funded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, and both fresh and renewal applicants can apply. Required documents include Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, and Bonafide Certificate. The scholarship amount is credited directly to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer. Institute-level verification must be completed by 31st October 2026.
